Don’t let your dreams get all rusty
Keep on using them as hard as you can
The night is so much darker than it has any right to beDon’t let it all get away from you
Don’t let it slip through your hands(and)
Blessed are the lovers who’ll inherit the Earth
Blessed are the lovers who discovered it first
You’ll have to pay for it later if you don’t get it when it’s goin’ for free
And believe me that—A kiss is a terrible thing to waste
Just tell them your mama said so
A kiss is a terrible thing to waste
And “if only” are the loneliest words you’ll ever know
“If only” are the loneliest words you’ll ever know
My songs seem naturally to deal with love and the deep emotions that go with it, the pain and darkness it can bring, not just the soul-saving aspects. I hope they also serve as motivation to act, to live. We’ve got one shot at this, so I hope they inspire people to get off the sidelines and risk hurt or failure in an effort to live. You don’t want to look back and think, “If only.”
